This book is definitely THE book of the decade! If it was novel,it would be accused as being "Too far fetched" I can't recommend this book enough, you simply can't put it down!
A true WW2 story were the details have only been recently released.
Ben McIntyre is a truly great author, and i can also recommend "Agent Zigzag" and a "Foreign Field" both previous books by him,he's truly going to have a hard job following "Mincemeat!"

Very interesting if you like history . Bought for my Dad in his 80's and losing his sight and has been an avid reader all his life. He loved it.

This was OK for a long car journey. The basics of the story are probably well known to most people but the story is padded out with a lot of other information, much of which is very interesting.

Not a patch on Agent Zigzag though - that was great.

A great true story, I was fasinated by the details. But therein lay the reason I only gave it 3 stars...There were too many details. The reader or ,more likely, the story kept going off at tangents. Making it sometimes quite hard to get back into the flow of the storyline. This whole plot could have been condenced into half as many CDs. Perhaps it would be better to have read it myself in book form? Sadly I also found the pitch of the readers voice did not do justice to the subject matter. This is, of course, only a personal opinion but the reader, John Lee, did not put the story across as interestingly as, for example, David Rintoul, in "An Officer And A Spy". The whole thing sounded to me, a bit like a sporting or racing commentary.

great story/history - but a little too drawn out over 9 cd's and making the Germans speak English with an accent was rather poor
solution. suppose selected in relation to the level of British language skills .....

This is great for listening to on a long car journey. Truly enthralling, with plenty of detail without being dense. Amazing rendition of the voices and tones of the time. Highly recommended.

We bought this audio cd for a blind relative who listens lots to audio books. It obtained 9 discs which kept him happy for along time, a really interesting story .
