High quality molds safe for my family! 1 May 2011
By Melanie Carr - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased these molds because my daughter cannot have any liquids that are in plastics. I almost didn't buy them due to the price, however after using them (now for the 3rd time in 24 hours), I am looking forward to buying another set!

The set comes with 6 stainless steel molds, mold holding tray, stainless steel popsicle mold lids, and colored discs to hold the sticks in place (that go inside the lids). We also got some extra discs (I suppose for color coordination.)

My first batch was banana berry smoothie made with goat milk. It was a thick mixture made in the evening. By the next morning, the popsicles were ready to go and easily slid out by running the popsicle molds under cold water for a second or two. Hot water melted the popsicles too much inside the mold (so when I took it out it was melty on the outside). Lesson learned... use cold water to get them out. The kids loved them, and I have to say the popsicle lids double as DRIP CONTROL! The sticks fit firmly into the discs, and the mold lids are angled so any liquid that drips down is caught (AKA not all over my children's hands). Even they liked that.

Two down in the afternoon, so I put some BLU Frog energy drink into the two molds. Note: when putting carbonated beverages into molds, leave more room. I forgot that little tidbit and had a bit of popsicle trickling down the sides later. Tonight after dinner the kids finished off the first batch of popsicles while my boyfriend and I had energy drink pops! They were great!

The molds were super easy to work with. I'm REALLY surprised! Being stainless steel, I thought I might be asking for trouble with them but they are AWESOME! The size of popsicle is quite generous, as well.

I put a third batch into the molds after dinner so all of us can enjoy pops in the morning... blueberry canteloupe with dates and goat milk. Who can argue with that? These puppies could even be eaten for BREAKFAST and be okay. I just turned into the fun mom again!

I don't know what else people would be looking for in molds for a review, but pros and cons so here goes:

PROS: quick & easy release from molds, DRIP CONTROL design, colored discs for marking flavors, tray keeps pops upright, doesn't take up much space

CONS: price (but TOTALLY WORTH it after using them, especially because they last forever)

If you are on the fence about these... bite the bullet and get a mold you can pass down to your own children one day!

My best popsicle set 1 Dec 2010

I love it! It's great to have a product that does not leave a plastic taste on the food. It's one of the healthiest choices for making your own popsicles (no BPA!). And they're the perfect size for the adults. Easy to use, just run quickly under water for an effortless release. Although a pricier alternative, they should last longer and fare better than their plastic counterparts. My only criticism: having to constantly buy new pop sticks. It gets expensive. On the bright side, the manufacturer says that they're in the process of manufacturing re-useable bamboo popsicle sticks...

Great no-plastic Popsicle Mold 27 Sep 2010

These are great. Found some good popsicle recipes this summer, and made lots of good pops in these. It's pretty easy, throw some banana, blueberries, whatever in a food processor with yogurt, and freeze for like 6 hours for a great, healthy summer snack!
