When Scarlet realized Penelope was dumping Sean, her best friend, she was devastated. Penelope was the love of his life, the woman of his dreams. Scarlet knew how far her best friend was going to fall and she had to catch him. Scarlet became Sean’s rock and helped him through a very painful breakup, but her own hidden desires bubbled to the surface in the process. When they finally gave in and slept together, she thought it was the start of their new relationship. Unfortunately, Sean didn’t feel the same.

Humiliated and heartbroken, Scarlet moved across the country and found what she least expected. She rekindled her damaged relationship with her brother, who she hadn’t spoken to in a year, and her brother’s best friend was attractive and interesting. Their relationship was natural and unforced, and she was immediately drawn to him. Would she be able to get over Sean, forget about him, by sleeping with Cortland, or would that just be another repeated mistake?

*Recommended for mature audiences 17+ due to strong language and sexual content.*

About the Author

E. L. Todd was raised in California where she attended California State University, Stanislaus and received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, then continued onto her master’s degree in education. While science is interesting and a hobby, her passion is writing. After writing novels as a small child, her craft grew until she found the confidence to show her closest friends—which is how Only For You, the first installment of the Forever and Always series, and the Soul Saga series began. When she isn’t reading or writing, she is listening to indie rock music. Her current favorite artist is Mumford and Sons, whom she credits most of her inspiration for her novels. She also enjoys running and swimming, as well as working as a high school teacher. She also works as an assistant editor at She has an unusual obsession with dogs, even though she doesn’t own one, and her favorite vacation spot is Disneyland, which she visits several times a year. The most important aspect of her life is her friends, whom contributed so much time and energy into all of her novels. According to E. L. Todd, “Without them, Only For You and Soul Catcher never would have come to fruition. I am theirs forever.”

3.0 out of 5 stars Like the idea more than the execution 16 Nov. 2013
By Sarah
Format:Kindle Edition
*This book was provided to me in exchange for an honest and unbiased review*

I feel quite mixed about this book. I thought it was a great idea but to be honest not expertly executed. 2.5 stars.

What I liked...
The plot really interested me. I knew what was going to happen for the first half (well it was in the blurb!) and so I read with real anticipation of the moment, wondering quite how it would play out. Then in the second half of the book it was great to see growth and new characters and I had no clue how it was going to end. Right up to the last chapter I couldn't have told you what HEA to expect! I liked some of the snappy wit Scarlet had too and the sense of place created. I like to be able to picture where people are and for there to be regular locations like the office and the shake place. I could picture these places really well.

What I didn't like...
Unfortunately, I didn't much like the characters. Sean was a selfish idiot and Scarlett was just plain irritating and not too bright, despite her supposed education. They both grated on me. I also found the dialogue stilted, and contrived and often vulgar.
I couldn't buy the history of the characters. I didn't feel like the characters were built gradually with their stories being pieced together throughout the book. It was just stated, in chunks that bore no relation to anything else. Like, all of a sudden the brother is her best friend forever and there's this family dysfunction that is never mentioned before. I don't get where Scarlet and Sean got their friendship from either. It would have made more sense if they'd been friends since little kids or something but you don't just get a friendship like that without something to explain it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only for you. By E.L Todd 16 Nov. 2013
By Claire
Only for you, by E.L.Todd.

Well, I only loved this book. In here you have it all.

This book is an emotional roller coaster ride, with a little light humor thrown in, which I love in a book. Also has a good bit hotness to top it all of. Just the right amount to keep you interested. This book grips you from the first chapter in. I read this book in 4 and a half hours. It left me wanting to read more!

This book is about Scarlet & Sean.

In a book I love it when the written picks names that are good names, realistic names. So even the names in this book I really liked. Like Scarlet's name for instance. I adored her character she is sweet, hot and has the right amount of sass about her. I felt so bad for her at times.

Sean is a good looking guy with a good job and the right amount of hotness a guy needs in a character for a book like this. Sean has been going out with his long term girlfriend Penelope. His best friend is Scarlet. When Penelope breaks Sean's heart by breaking up with him, he turns to Scarlet as a friend for comfort. She is there to pick up the pieces of his life, of whats left of it for him. Scarlet loves Sean, however he finds this out the hard way. And Scarlet fleas New York and goes to her Brother who helps her through a hard time, after Sean broke her heart. She rekindles her relationship with her Brother in the process.

A heart felt read to the end. A book about friendship and love.

I can't wait to read the next one, too see where their relationship really takes off..

3.0 out of 5 stars nice read 20 Nov. 2013
By Jodie11
Format:Kindle Edition
First off a big thank you to E.L Todd for contacting me to offer me an arc in exchange for a true review as soon as i read the synopsis i knew this is my sort of book and couldn't wait to get started.I loved the cover of this book and although the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover i always go for a good cover so good start.Sean and Scarlet are best friends since college and are always there for each other now when Sean and his long term girlfriend split up Sean is broken hearted and Scarlet is determined to help him like he has helped her on so many times.Scarlet has her own problems but keeps them hidden she wants Sean to feel better first and not to have him worried about her.Scarlet's boss is a sleaze bag with a capital S and that's me been nice.Things happen and Sean and Scarlet sleep together to Sean it's just sex but to Scarlet its them saying they love each other Scarlet ends up heartbroken and a few things happen to her in this part of book and this is where it loses a couple of stars for me it just seemed to leap over these issues and i would have liked to see a bit more about what happened outside the hotel.Scarlet is broken and runs to the only place she feels safe to her brother Ryan. The story leads on and is enjoyable reading and getting to know Scarlet and Ryan's relationship and throw in Ryan's best friend and it was an enjoyable read.No cliffhanger either big smiley face for that one so i would like to thank E.L Todd for an enjoyable read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only for you 16 Nov. 2013

I received this as an ARC in return for an honest review
I fell in love with Scarlet within a few pages, she was sassy, feisty and had a good head on her shoulders, she's the kind of friend everyone needs and some of the things she said had me in stitches.
I felt for Sean, i think we've all had a bad spell with love at some point and it's not nice however i found myself wishing he got a taste of his own medicine when he used his best friend.
I wanted things to work with Cortland and Scarlet, i really wanted her to be over Sean until he booked up his idea's and sorted himself out, i was then glad Cortland had found someone new.
Overall the book was brilliant, i felt all emotions when reading it and after putting it down couldn't stop thinking about it, there were some loose ends that need wrapping up which i assume with happen in book 2 but i wanted to know the mother had died a cruel and horrible death!
My only criticism would be there was a little over use with the word brat, it sounds like a very harsh word (i don't hear it used often in the UK), like you would say to hurt someone's feelings and i don't think scarlet in all her playfulness was being brattish.
All in all I'll be reading book 2 when it's released and i recommend this book to anyone that loved a romance novel with some pretty gritty sex scenes in it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad bad bad
Poorly written and repetitive. Very disappointing read, with no imagination, obvious plot line and nothing to keep your attention. Complete waste of time.

The author has captured the characters beautifully. The story line shows the main characters Sean and scarlet going through different life changes. Love, emotional story.
