Product Description

The final part of the 'Only Fools and Horses' trilogy, originally broadcast over Christmas 1996. Racquel's parents are coming to dinner, and it seems that a purchase made by Rodney when he first joined TITCO might be about to make the Trotter brothers millionaires after all.

Product Description

The third episode in the Only Fools and Horses Christmas Trilogy by John Sullivan It seemed the usual Trotter farce: Raquel's parents visiting for dinner, Rodney doing a stock take (artifical leg, Showaddywaddy LPs) .. Then Raquel's antique dealing father makes a discovery in the lock up. Before you can say "this time next year Rodders ..." our heroes are in Sotheby', about to realise their dreams and finally become - Millionaires!!

5.0 out of 5 stars It should have ended here 19 July 2004
By A Customer
David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Buster Merryfield are back in the third and final part of the 1996 trilogy. This time round it involves Rodney dealing with the loss of his and Cassandra's baby, Albert mixing up the coffe and gravy granuals and the discovery of a very valuable watch that's been missing for over 300 years.
There are two scenes in this episode that really stand out.
1) Del and Rodney in the lift when it 'stops'
2) When Del and Rodney find out how much the watch is worth
'Time on our Hands' is the episode that broke the previous joint record of 21.3 million (set by Heroes and Villans and Modern Men. Part 1 and 2 of the same Christmas Trilogy) by
3 million more. This is probably the best episode out of the wholh OFAH collection because of the amount of laughter, the emotions and the intelligence that have been crammed into the 1 hour running time and should be a definate part of any british comedy fans collection (as should every other episode).

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Ending 23 July 2008
This episode was originally intended to be the last of OFAH and, in my opinion, it should have statyed the last. Although, like many millions, I missed the OFAH Christmas special and the three episodes that followed it were extremely funny, this episode ended perfectly, with Del and Rodders finally getting their lifelong dream.

The episode is as poignant as it is funny, with Rodneys dealing with Cassies miscarriage beautifully coupled with Uncle Alberts mixing up of the coffee and the gravy mix. My favourite scene is when Del and Rodney are in the flat in Nelson Mandela house and the phone rings, when David Jason says the line "Trotters Independent Traders has ceased trading" will bring tears to my eyes until my dying day.

The 4 star rating, like the other reviewers, is for the poor treatment the BBC sees fit to give their best ever comedy. Some out-takes at least would have been nice.

3.0 out of 5 stars No complaints about the show 17 Jan 2006
For the show itself, 5 stars, but the reason I gave it just 3 are as follows. First, as usual now, there are NO extras whatsoever. Secondly, and again, this is common with the OFAH DVD's for some reason, it has been edited. The very last bit, where they finally get rich, in the original showing, they had the song 'Our House' over the top, which fitted perfectly. Now, for some reason, the song has changed, and now some woman is singing it. It just doesn't seem right.

5.0 out of 5 stars beyond the beyonds 19 Jun 2007
By sean paul mccann VINE VOICE
Even thinking about this episode sends shivers up my spine, this was originally meant to be the last episode of the classic sitcom, the episode where the brothers finally became millionaires, multi millionaires to be precise, just over 6 million quid richer in fact.

However a few years later john sullivan wrote another three episodes that certainly split the fans, but that debate is for another day,for now it must be said that time on our hands could well be the greatest episiode ever, for those who watched the show grow, watched the characters develop, watch them scrimp and save, lose it all and back again, then this episode served as the ultimate in enjoyment, well 24 million watched it when first aired, that wont be beaten anytime soon i can assure you.

The episode follows on from modern men, where rodney and cassie lost their baby and that was sad,and the episode pays reflection to that with del getting his brother to face up to the fact, that was powerful tv,aside from that raquel parents are coming for dinner and to meet del at the same time and thats a ball of laughs as well, raquels father james is an antiques dealer and while looking through through the trotters garage spots something that is rare and auction worthy and the rest is history. To watch the greatest family to have ever appeared on tv turn into the millionaires we all wanted them to be is so powerful, and in the end as they walk into a fictional sunset and del proclaiming that 'this time next year we will be billionaires' is spine tingling stuff, world class is too small a term for how that made me feel.

4.0 out of 5 stars THIS TIME NEXT YEAR"" WE WILL BE!! 6 April 2005
Well finaly the Trotters did it they got all the bunce they needed and wanted.
personaly speaking i think this should have been the last of the series and seeing them walking of into the sunset was a perfect ending to one of the greatest comedy series in British History.
As you all know they brought it back for the last three episodes for which i did enjoy but to be honest with out buster merryfield (uncle albert) it had lost a lot of the old magic.
Well never mind you know the old saying all good things must end.
Anyway the 96 trilogy for which this episode was the final part off was a classic and the only complaint i have of it is the lack of extras that these BBC DVDs DONT have.
I just have a funny feeling that after a couple of years the bbc will release the whole set of OFAH again complete with missing edits and goof ups which to be honest will upset me and a lot of fans.
This episode was not the best of the christmas OFAH and i will give it 4 stars just cos im an avid fan of the series and biast in my reviews about this show.
But if your a fan then of coarse you have to have it in your collection.
Lovely Jubley!!!
