Product Description

Rodney seems to have it all: a beautiful wife, a cushty job at his father-in-law's printing company, and a lovely home. You'd think he’d be happy...

Rodney and Cassandra have only just got back from their honeymoon and their relationship is already in tatters. Cassie has become a workaholic and Rodney – who cannot understand why she wants to attend work functions instead of cooking his tea – is fast becoming an alcoholic.

Del, however, has never been happier. Raquel has moved in having returned from a theatre tour of America's east coast. She has taken over Rodney's room but Del has high hopes of persuading her into his own room before too long.

To make Cassandra jealous (hopefully), Rodney arranges a date with Tania, the 'bow wow from the Peckham Exhaust Centre', as Del describes her. He backs out before going through with it but the damage is done.

Del, worried for his brother's happiness (and the loss of cheap printing perks through Rodney's job) has decided to play Cupid – with the result that Cassandra finds out about Tania and Rodney finds himself homeless for the third time in 18 months.

Poor old Rodders! 19 Feb 2011
This is the 6th annual OF & H Christmas special, first shown on Christmas Day 1990. It acts really as a transitionary episode, picking up the story from the events at the end of the classic 'Jolly Boys' Outing' (where Del was re-united with Racquel and Rodney's marriage was starting to become fragmented).

The events here are set 18 months later, and deal with the cementing of Del and Racquel's relationship, and the unfortunate break-up of Rodney's marriage, culminating in him returning to the Trotter household (after a distrastrous attempt by Del to intervene by suggesting Rodney ask another girl to the 'pictures' to make Cassandra jealous) - all ready for season 7 to unfold the following week.
In that respect, this episode is best viewed chronologically, and not in isolation - as it doesn't make so much sense otherwise. There's less stand-out humour here too, as it's more a scene-setter for the following season of episodes.

The plot is far more relationship-based than usual - so as such, we see less of the usual 'cast' members (other than Rodney's friends - no Boycie, Trigger etc.), and, rare for an OF & H special, no scenes at all in the Nag's Head!

There's still a fair amount of the usual wonderful humour here to be enjoyed though - particularly Del's attempts to sell tiny tears-type dolls from his suitcase in a crowded shopping centre. Cassandra and Rodney's scenes are hilarious too, as they both accuse each other of being childish and fail to agree on anything - similar in style to the writer's earlier 'Just Good Friends' sitcom.

Though not quite classic OF & H, this is is definitely a must for completists, and for anyone wishing to view the episodes chronologically in order to follow the storyline through. As with other OF & H DVDs, this is a 'vanilla' release (with no extras or commentaries) - but represents very good value at the asking price.

I am a great fan of Only Fools and Horses but this episode is not the funniest. However the story line is good and although it is not as funny as some other episodes it does have its moments, for instance when Rodney says he has a date with another girl Uncle Albert really goes over the top with his cries of exclamation.Certainly worth buying if you like Only Fools and Horses.

This Trotter tale sees Rodney adapting to married life......badly! This feature length episode features one of the funniest scenes ever as Del attempts to persuade Rodney that cheating on his wife is a bad idea. Needless to say Del interfers and things get even worse for the hapless Rodney. As ever the writing by John Sullivan is flawless and the laughs come thick and fast. Enjoyable time and time again and always will be.
