The unforgettable special feature-length Christmas cracker from 1989 in which Del meets Raquel again and Rodney jumps to disastrous conclusions with Cassandra. It's a typically tearaway Trotter's treat - an extra large helping of luvvly jubbly...
Del is organising the annual beano to Margate, the traditional Jolly Boys' Outing. But Rodney and Cassandra have just celebrated their first wedding anniversary and she's worried about him going out with the boys - especially as she's angling for promotion with her yuppie boss. When Rodders is arrested and the whole party is stranded by a very nasty accident, her worst fears are realised. But there's more to Margate than chips, cockles, ice-cream, doughnuts, Pina Colada and lobster vindaloo. There's magician The Great Ramondo and his assistant Raquel.

There is no such thing as a bad OFAH episode. The worst episode would be better than the best episode of another sitcom. On that note, Jolly Boy's Outing was truly one of the funniest and best ever. I could not stop laughing throughout.

Although I was not particularly keen on the marriage of Rodney to Cassandra, feeling that this took the series away from its original premise, which was a comedy about 3 men of different generations sharing the same flat. This feature length Christmas special continues the high standards set by series 6, broadcast earlier in 1989.
All the regulars of the Nags head, Del, Rodney, Albert, Trigger, Boycie, Mike, Trigger, Sid, and in his final appearance in the series, Jevons, decide to visit Margate for their annual summer outing. But events conspire against them, and when there coach blows up, they are all stranded in the seaside town for the night. This episode has some great comedy moments, the coach explosion, Rodney accidentally kicking a ball into the face of a policeman, and Triggers excellent one liners. I would have given this five stars, but for the lack of extras on this DVD. Surely one of Britain's all time best comedies, deserves them.

I won't be buying Only Fools & Horses DVDs again! Why are the BBC releasing DVDs with scenes cut?

Why have the BBC released it with a good 10 minutes of scenes cut? I've read that a lot of the Only Fools and Horses DVDs are like that. Why have the BBC done that? It completely spoils it for me. If you bought a book with pages missing you wouldn't be happy, so why settle for this. Do the BBC think their licence fee paying public are too thick to notice? I'm completely at a loss to understand why they do this!

Jolly Boys Outing
An absolute classic. British comedy at it's best. Previously I never managed to watch the whole film from start to finish. Just love the comic timing, genius!

Jolly Boys' outing review
I really enjoyed this 'Only Fools and Horses' dvd; Iam a great fan anyway but thought this special was up to the mark, great fun and some good belly laughs.

Del Boy Classic
A Trotter's Classic Tale. All the usual Del Boy and Rodney adventures.
