This is the first episode of the 1996 Christmas trilogy, and one of the funniest in the series. The regulars are all on good form. The hilarious Batman and Robin sequence has already been documented in another review. This is followed up soon after by a funny chase sequence between Rodney and one of the muggers, which doesn't quite work out as planned, leaving Del Boy to be the hero of the day. There is also a hilarious dream sequence at the beginning, as Rodney has avision of the future! These Christmas specials were arguably, along with 'The Jolly Boy's Outing,' the funniest of the series, and would have ended the show on a high. I didn't think that the subsequent Christmas trilogy shown from 2001 - 2003 quite achieved the same standard. However, here's a story worth getting. Enjoy it!

When Del and Rodney go to a party dressed up as Batman and Robin they happen to save a local counsellor from being mugged Raquel goes to meet her parents and Cassandra discovers that she is pregnant.
I am so glad that this title is finally available on DVD. It is one of my fave Only fools and horses episodes ever! This is hilarious from start to finish! Ant comedy fans should consider buying this DVD. It will not disapoint!

This has to be one of the funniest moments in OFAH when Del & rodders decide to go to a fancy dress and the Van decides to break down.
They have to run through a shopping center at night to get to harrys party which has now turned into a wake as harry has passed away and del never got the message.
At the same time the local counciler is being mugged as she is getting into her car.
And as the muggers are trying to steal her purse from out of the mist comes bat man and robin complete with the batman theme music.
The muggers panic and run and the funniest moment in the show has become comedy history.
Its worth buying this DVD just for the Classic moment in this christmas trilogy.
Have to give this one five stars out of five..
Bloody marvelous!!!

'Heroes and Villains' is the first 1996 special in the 'Only Fools and Horses' Christmas trilogy, and the one which features the now infamous scene of Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) dressed up as comic superheroes Batman and Robin.

This scene in itself is a comedy classic, but there is so much more to laugh at here. The script from the late, great comedy writer John Sullivan is brilliant, and at the start, the audience is even treated to a peek into how the Trotters might look in the future, and where they have ended up in life. Whilst wives Cassandra and Raquel are away, likely lads Del and Rodney attend a fancy dress party - only for things to go completely wrong, as usual. The ending continues the series on, with Cassandra announcing some special news.

Just one of the many 'Only Fools' classics, but miss this one - and you'll miss a cracker!

The same old faces are at it again... with life still an uphill struggle for the Trotter clan. The publican fancy dress party is organised so with Casandra away on holiday and Rachel visiting her parents, Rodney and Del decide to go dressed as Batman and Robin... only things go a little wrong as per usual....
But with a spate of muggings on the estate there disguises are soon doing more than they bargained for...

In all, this episode is another brilliantly comical adventure in the life of the Trotters and there unlucky life style and is well worth watching.

After having to pan two dismal DVD releases of one of my favourite series, it's nice to be able to say that this is one of the finest in the entire OFAH canon. From the fancy-dress farce to Del and Rodney's attempts at chasing a mugger, this is just non-stop hilarity from beginning to end. Story details involve Cassandra becoming pregnant, Raquel getting a phone-call from her long-forgotten parents and Del being invited to a party. The characters are at their best and there is never a dull moment. A classic.

Customer service was extremely good in every aspect from ordering to delivery. Was particularly pleased that i was informed that it was coming sooner than 1st expected!! would use this company again multiple times & recomend any1 els to do the same. The dvd itself was absolutely hilarious, 1 my all time favourite episodes out of completely classic collection (which is almost impossible to do). This will always be absolutely timeless collection.

Wow , I remember my happy 1996 year of youth , aspiration , possibility and only fools and horses Christmas special .I loved this episode with the comeback after three years of the show . The characters are great and funny apart from the UK women in it , but the men save the day , not only as Batman and Robin , not originally British , but few cool things are .

Simply a timeless classic!
My partner and I both had tears running down our cheeks and aching jaws from laughing so much. It was still as good as when originally released. Great script, great acting.
