Review

"Few these days are blessed to sign lucrative contracts with publishing houses that take an author's work to market and nurture their careers. Thanks to today's technology, the most novice and humble among us can aspire to success in print by using our laptops and following Phillips's roadmap for do-it-yourself online book marketing. To establish a brand, set up an author site, write and maintain a blog, optimize one's online profile, participate in Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and craft a recognizable public persona, some may decide to hire experts like Phillips while others may choose to do it ourselves. Either way, Phillips shows us how it's done. Her book is invaluable for readers who want to become known as writers in an increasingly interconnected world where the sky's the limit and hope has wings."
--Foreword Magazine

"So you've written a book! That's great, but your work is only half done. To make it successful, you need to spend as much time marketing your book as you did writing it. Fortunately, Lorraine Phillips shows you exactly what you need to do to build an online platform that delivers the results that you and your book deserve."
--David Meerman Scott, best-selling author of The New Rules of Marketing and PR, a BusinessWeek best seller published in more than 25 languages

"Online Book Marketing is a comprehensive, resource-filled guide for anyone considering writing a book−whether for trade publishing or self-publishing. From cover to cover, it's a tightly organized, resource-filled, usable guide to author-driven book marketing a book in today's online world."
--Roger C. Parker, author, #Book Title Tweet: 140 Bite-Sized Ideas for Article, Book, and Event Titles (publishedandprofitable.com)

"Lorraine Phillips is not only a master at clear explanations of highly technical concepts, but she has filled her book with hundreds of useful URLs: a wonderful tool kit for anyone wanting to market a book online or even just get the maximum benefit from an online presence."
--Shel Horowitz, book marketing/publishing consultant and award-winning author of Grassroots Marketing for Authors and Publishers (grassrootsmarketingforauthors.com)

"From blogging to article marketing, from Facebook Page creation to thriving on Twitter, this book has it all!"
--Vikram Narayan,
CEO of BookBuzzr
Book Marketing Technologies

"Smart authors will read this book before they even start writing!"
--Melinda F. Emerson, small business expert and author of Become Your Own Boss in 12 Months

"Eyeballs have moved from print to online. This book leads you to where today's customers are. Save time, save money and make your marketing more effective."
--Dan Poynter, best-selling author of The Self-Publishing Manual

"It isn't easy being an author. Not only do you have to write the book, but in today's marketplace, you have to market it as well. Your publisher can and will only do so much. The rest will depend on you. Which is why I highly recommend that you grab a copy of this book. Ms. Phillips has done a great service to authors and would-be authors everywhere. She has created a guide that takes marketing a book from a vague concept to a scalable plan. Buy it. Highlight it. Implement it. You will be glad you did."
--Shama Kabani, best-selling author of The Zen of Social Media Marketing

"Too few authors understand that social media isn't just about blasting out free commercials to sell books. It's about creating a larger-than-life profile online and making it easy for people who are hungry for your expertise and content to find you. Once they know, like and trust you, you've practically sold your book. Lorraine Phillips clearly "gets it." In Online Book Marketing, she gives authors an excellent overview of websites, including social media sites, where they must have a commanding presence. What separates this book from the dozens of other books that teach book marketing online? The accompanying 26-page workbook. It's the springboard you'll use to plan your entire marketing campaign."
--Joan Stewart, The Publicity Hound

3.0 out of 5 stars My fault, no help 15 May 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I am old and beyond Twitter, Facebook and the like so this book provided very little help. Some of the chapters on non digital marketing were useful, but in the end we marketed our book in our own way. Successfully!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best $9.99 I Have Spent in a Long time 28 Jan 2012
By N. Jennings - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is incredible. I have learned so much, and was pleased to find that the things my friend and I have done thus far to produce and market her first book was mostly right. Now we know other things we can do, and the tools we need to do them. After the first chapter, I was so impressed withit that I Kindle-gifted it to my friend. Now I will go back and read it again and take notes.

Easy to understand, well written and all that great information. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performance in This Book 25 Aug 2011
By C. Hope Clark - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Creating book buzz is intimidating to most writers. Platform is key these days, but how is an unknown author to become known without saying, "here I am, buy my book" ? Online Book Marketing is basic. It's understandable without geek-ese. These is a grounded publication on how to step onto the Internet and leave your mark for others to find . . . so you can sell your writing. Very recommended.
