The book opens with a guide to all playable characters then moves on to the basics of play, attacking enemies, weapons, enemy profiles and a comprehensive item list. Each gift item is profiled with the goodwill level it has when trading with the four other characters. Every other page has a small version of the scenario map at the top. This shows you how far in the game you are and where the other characters fit into the story line. There are many puzzles in the game and the walkthrough shows the player how best to deal with them. Some of the bosses are tough and again, advice is given on how to deal with them. The two phantom realms are also detailed.
The back of the book has maps of every environment and a secrets section. There are many different game modes to unlock and a couple of unlockable costumes. The Rekka-Ken is the most powerful sword in the game and can be aquired by completing level 20 of the purple phantom realm. Admittedly, I would not have had the patience to complete the game without this guide. For players of Onimusha 2 who want to get the most from the game this book is probably essential.

I usually go with Brady Games strategy guides because they include such things and carefully review to minimize typos. I went with Prima merely because I was on such a short budget and it was a very good price. If you're going to spend the money, go with Brady.
