A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
I bought this book as Amazon had recommended it to me and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was one of the featured authors. It's `a global anthology of short stories' by various well known and other authors.

My favourite story by far was `My Mother, the Crazy African' by Chimamanda Adichie - it made me roar with laughter! I really understood where the narrator was coming from. I loved `Growing My Hair Again' by Chika Unigwe; I thought it was very powerful and as a result I bought Unigwe's novel `On Black Sisters' Street'. `The Third and Final Continent' by Jhumpa Lahiri finished the anthology well; it was tasteful. I gave this book to my mother to read and she enjoyed it very much

I enjoyed the stories overall; this anthology is great exposure for authors around the world; authors I that would not have heard of. I look forward to their future works.

A world of stories 29 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
The best part about One World, is that it introduces the reader to so many authors from different parts of the world. Of course, as a reader you will prefer some stories or authors over others, but the large variety of storylines makes this book a fun book to read.

Before buying this book, I was already familiar with Chimamanda Adichie's work. In this book I really liked Chikwa Unigwe's and Sequoia Nagamatsu's stories, and because of their participation to One World I decided to buy some of their books. That's what makes this book so unique, it introduces you to new authors and broaders your literary horizons.

To me, this is THE best compilation of short stories I've come across and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading.

A Lovely Mix 18 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
I enjoyed all the stories in different ways depending on where and how they made my mind travel. They took me from one continent to the other and made me feel the characters.
Most importantly, they are very believable stories!
I have just lent my copy to my friend who is enjoying it very much.
