Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Variety Club artiste, West End and Broadway veteran and Eurovision Song Contest representative, 'Wenglish' baritone Michael Ball has long been capable of breathing new life into classic recordings. Following on from his hugely successful 2005 album Music (on which he covered songs from artists as disparate as Queen, John Miles, Simon and Garfunkel, Sting and The Eagles) he now presents One Voice, which collects together even more of his favourite rock songs. It's an equally eclectic selection, spanning classics like Rainbow's "Since You've Been Gone", The Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes" and REM's "Everybody Hurts", as well as less predictable choices such as Mike and the Mechanics' "Living Years" and Daniel Beddingfield's "If You're Not The One". Of course, it wouldn't be a Michael Ball album without some heartfelt ballads: here we get "Where Do I Begin", the theme from Love Story (originally by Andy Williams) and a potent rendition of Rod Stewart/Everything But The Girl's "I Don't Want To Talk About It". One Voice is further testament to the soaring power and surprising versatility of this much-loved entertainer. -- Danny McKenna

Album Description

After the massive success of last year's album, Music, the ever-popular Michael Ball returns with another collection of his favourite contemporary songs reworked in his own unique style. From Barry Manilow's haunting One Voice to Michael's classy version of Michael Bublé's Home, this album is packed with timeless songs performed in a stylish, original way. Alongside the sort of ballads many of Michael's fans might expect such as Where Do I Begin (the theme from Love Story) and I Don't Want To Talk About It, are some more unusual, but nonetheless superb choices such as Aerosmith's power-ballad I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (as featured in the film Armageddon), Daniel Bedingfield's smash hit If You're Not The One and the bombastic Since You've Been Gone (originally by seminal `70s rock outfit, Rainbow).

A Fabulous Album 6 Nov 2006
Format:Audio CD
This is Michael Ball at his best. Songs like Barry Manilow's "One Voice", Rod Stewarts "I Don't Wanna Talk About It" Daniel Beddingfield's "If You're Not The One". The Eagles "Lyin' Eyes" are out of this world. My favoutires are "Since You've Been Gone" and "The Living Years" to name a few. Well Done Michael, another fantastic album.

I am a definitely a Michael Ball fan. I think he has a great voice and his live concerts are always great value. But this album just doesn't do it for me. I thought "Music" was fantastic but this one doesn't quite live up to those standards. For me, there are no high points on this album - they are just good songs performed well but nothing makes me "tingle", my mark of a great album. Michael Ball fans will enjoy this album, but if you're not a Michael Ball fan you may be left wondering what all the fuss is about!
