Highly anticipated 2nd release from Mishka . "Love and Devotion" is a 7 track EP that continues his beautiful journey through his song writing craft. Mishka's mellifluous pop-reggae compositions reflect a childhood spent travelling the islands of the West Indies in his Canadian parent’s sailboat. Educated by the sun and the sea, movement and freedom infuse Mishka's work. His childhood odyssey might have come to an end when his parents went back to Canada, but once Mishka had finished school he returned to the place of his heart, the Caribbean. Not many artists can boast of a background as a competitive windsurfer and Mishka went on to represent Bermuda at international meets. Like his older sister, Heather Nova, Mishka was also showing great promise as a singer/songwriter, and was eventually introduced to Creation Records' head Alan McGee in late 1996. Although a departure from Creation Records' usual roster of rock based acts, McGee was so impressed by Mishka he signed him to the label. An eponymous debut album was released in 1999, heralding the beginning of Mishka's career. Since then he has continued to develop as both a live performer and an artist of unique stature, blending a soulful lilt with the sensitivity of the finest folk songs. I have been anxiously awaiting another release from Mishka ever since his first self-titled cd. Unfortunately, it was quite a dissapointment. The first cd was amazing. Every track is a classic in my eyes. On One Tree, there are maybe 2 decent songs (out of 8)... none of which can touch any one song from his first cd.

What a soulful, happy album. I can't help but sing the title song wherever I am because it's so melodic and catchy. As with many others, I caught on to Mishka thanks to the movie and this album doesn't disappoint. If you like the smoother Bob songs then you'll dig this album.

Got this CD for the one wonderful song...No Need To Worry. It was a pleasant surprise to find the rest of the CD was just as wonderful. Mellow, peaceful, and positive.
