"One Step Closer" is the first ever material we knew from Linkin Park back in 2001. By that time, a new kind of rock was dominating the world, a mix between punk, rock and hip-hop used to rule the music business and the first taste of that new style started to be heard thanks to bands such as Limp Bizkit or Papa Roach.
Just when we were thirsty of this new sound and needed new acts to come from the rock camp, Linkin Park made its own spectacular appearence with a song as powerful as a thunder.
"One Step Closer" is the first single taken from the album "Hybrid Theory" and showed us a different band, Linkin Park was unique and fresh and was ready to kick ass!
Since then, they rocked the world with a string of hits: "Crawling", "Paper Cut", "In The End" and "Points Of Authority" all were taken from "Hybrid Theory" and all made it into the Top 20, being the most celebrated ones "In The End" which stormed at UK No.8 and "Points Of Authority" landing at UK No.9 (and both of them are Linkin Park's biggest hits to date).
After the success of the first album the band released an amazing remix LP including new versions of their songs, previously unreleased tracks and PC media sections: "ReAnimation" was released in the middle of 2002.
Almost one year passed and Linkin Park was ready to return to the music scene. With the new album "Meteora" (released 2003), the band delivered 3 awesome hits: "Somewhere I Belong" made UK No.10, and both "Faint" and "Numb" reached UK No.14.
You ought to buy this CD-SINGLE, is the one which began it all, but I warn you, when you start to listen to Linkin Park, you can't help stop listening all day long!
