4.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary Tabla! 18 Sep 2007
By R. Sarma - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This album definitely goes to show how a tabla maestro can seamlessly infuse tabla beats with any kind of music and make it sound so great! This is personally, my first 'Badal Roy' album, but I'm definitely very, very impressed!

5.0 out of 5 stars refreshing surprise 15 Oct 2010
By Oded Fried-Gaon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Here is a perfect example of how to explain a cliche like "Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover!"
What I mean is, if you look at the cover, you think of Indian Music. Traditional Indian music. That is soooooooo not the case.
I knew of Badal Roy before buying this album (who doesn't, with his immense background with Ornette, Pharoah, Nana, Miles, and on and on and...), but even I was surprised at the beauty of these recordings. It's Jazz, it's Ethnic, New Age, whatever... it's all those things and more.
I very much appreciate good musicianship, but it doesn't always translate to the recording and pressing. Well, here it does. It's creativity and genius, well produced and laid out for all to take in experience and be enthralled by.
This is an absolutely beautiful album, I highly recommend!
Sit back, and close your eyes. If you can.
