Know how to use them! 10 Jan. 2014

I've been watching One Piece for year's and I love it.

I recently watched Summer Wars and decided to give that card game in the movie, Koi- Koi, a try. Also GREAT MOVIE!

I search for Hanafuda "cards"* and find some with a One Piece theme. YAY!

I don't know how to read Japanese so the rules that came with this are a little useless to me, but I was hoping it would have at least a picture of the set's to go for. I've found some tutorials and even a web game to practice with. However I found it very difficult to actually remember which sets were what. And every place seemed to have it's own different sets. Also the rules in this box do have some sets to go for and a basic diagram of setup, but they are also very different from everything else I've seen. So, in the end, I gifted these to my old roommate who is crazy about One Piece way more than I am.

So if you already know how to play the games, you can use these! If you don't, it's a headache. Get a regular "traditional" set first.

*These are not typical cards, they are more like cardboard tokens that act like cards. They work, but these wear out and tear at the edges much faster and pretty soon you know which card is which by the distinctive markings on the edges of each card. I'd like to find a set that is really just typical cards.
