This is a lushly produced book which is testament to the variety, exuberance and invention of the most interesting use of the fourth plinth so far. I particularly enjoyed finding participants I hadn't seen when I wandered through Trafalgar Square - Tom Freston, for example, whose hour seems to have been particularly eventful!

To keep and cherish 25 Oct 2010
Format:Hardcover
As one of the Plinthers having a couple of pages dedicated to my slot I am, inevitably, biased, but any concerns I had prior to receiving my copy of this publication disappeared when I opened the package. I wouldn't normally spend this amount on a book, but I must admit that it is worth every penny. Extremely well packaged, luxuriously produced and a wonderful testament to what was indeed an outstanding piece of public art and representation of a range of characters, quirky, exuberant, eccentric, campaigning, funny, etc who participated in this 100 day event.

As a plinther, I bought this book as a reminder of my participation in this artistic event. With 2,400 plinthers over the course of 100 days, it is only natural that this book does not cover everyone's hour, but all the plinthers are included in the order they appeared at the end. The book is wonderfully produced, and includes lots of lovely pictures not only capturing the people on the plinth in Trafalgar Square, but also great shots of people's reactions in the crowd. I thought this was a brilliant, inclusive piece of art when it was on, and I felt very lucky to have taken part. This book pays testament to the spirit of the work and I think that anyone whose imagination was captured by the project would enjoy and relish this book.
