To be quite honest i expected the third book in this series to be a disappointment as many other authors become repetative in subsequent books. However, i just had to read this book as i loved the first two books so much i couldn't put them down. I am very pleased to say that Sabrina Jeffries continues to produce first class characters, unruly and strong minded women, and wholesome sensual men, who will keep you engrossed throughout this seductive and exhilarating tale. Gavin, another of Prinny's unclaimed byblows meets Christabel, the widowed Marchioness of Haversham and she is asking for his help! The plot involves Christina masquerading as Gavins mistress at gambling dens and exclusive house parties, in order for her to recover some letters that if published would ruin her family and also the notorious Prinny!! Gavins desperation to destroy Prinny is so great that he is willing to risk the destruction of Christabels family by planning to steal the letters to have them published. It is up to the beautiful Christabel to conquer Gavins defenses in order to save her heart and her family. Excellent book with numerous twists and turns from start to finish!! You won't be disappointed!!

I really enjoyed this book in the series, ending up totally in love with the sensuous Gavin. Reformed rakes make the best husbands don't they?

This is the first of SJ's recency romances that I have read in the series, and what a read it was!
Once I was introduced to the notorious rouge, Gavin Byrne and the hard-headed marchioness, Lady Haversham (Christabel) I couldn't wait to see how their characters and the relatonship between them would unfold.
In a devious plot to retrieve some letters that will damage her family's reputation, Christabel calls upon Byrne to help her get them back. The only way is to pose as Byrne's mistress to win an invitation to Lord Stokely's infamous card party. And only a certain type of guest makes the list; either for their talent at cards or their willingness for wickedness, as Christabel soon discovers. Before that however, she must master her skills at playing whist if Byrne is to partner her instead of the host this year without raising suspicion. Little does Christabel realise that she may have more to lose than her dignity to become a competant card player when Byrne challenges her to a game of whist for the wicked.
As Christabel's lessons continue, so develops a secret desire for Byrne, whose intentions to bed her grow all the more fierce with her abstinence. She will not succumb to his advances to be just another mistress, despite how his rough and passionate kisses make her feel. Yet she may discover that giving in is the only way to keep the unacclaimed prince.
This is definately a page turner and a great read! I loved the ending and would love to see this book made into a film! Enjoy!!

Very good romance..
Gavin is your typical bad boy! who reforms his ways for the heroine. She is strong and determine in her ways and never lets seduction sway her. Unfortunately Gavin is the one who ends up seduced by her.. Lots of funny moments.
