One Last Time is an account of the work of a 30-year-old psychic medium, written with a refreshingly upfront attitude usually rare in such books.
John Edward began having psychic experiences when a young child and by the time he was a teenager, people were asking him for readings. Before long he realised that he wasn't just getting psychic impressions from his clients, but was actually receiving messages from the dead. The title of the book comes from a conversation with his mother shortly before she died, when he said that people should be given "one last time to talk to the people in their lives"; it is this, he believes, that he is doing.
Edward is honest about his own doubts and his problems: "I never forget that I can always be wrong. What I do is full of ambiguity and inconsistency, and sometimes second guesses." Although he hears the spirits speaking to him, there are often problems in the communication: "If there was one thing I would ask the spirits, it would be to slow down and speak more clearly."
One Last Time is a warm and engaging read, totally lacking the often sickly pious preaching found in many other books about communicating with "the Other Side". John Edward is down-to-earth and straightforward and doesn't pretend to have all the answers. This, more than anything, makes the book both enjoyable and believable. --David V Barrett

A truly life-changing experience.,

'One Last Time' is the most inspiring book I have ever read. To say this book is life-changing is in so many ways appropriate. To look up a dictionary definition of Life would find the explanation 'capacity for growth, functional activity, and continual change until death', however this book will redifine Life and how we view it. Of course in life we do grow and change daily, however according to John when we 'die' our endevours in life have not been as fruitless as defined in the dictionary - they mean so much more. John Edward is the most genuine, thought provoking and LIFE-CHANGING medium I have ever encountered. The hope and reassurance this book brings to us all, whether you have lost someone close to you, have had a near death experience, or if you fear the inevitable, will undoubtably bring great comfort. I have passed this book around friends and family - even bought copies for people I've thought could use it, and all have been inspired by it. This book really does touch us all.

I have always been a big fan of John Edward's TV show, Crossing Over, but the thing that struck me most about the book, is that you hear him say the words. The phrases are the same, the terminology, but even for one who has not seen the show this book will amaze, astound and scare you! John Edward gives an insight into his life, how he found out he had both psychic and clairvoyant abilities, how these developed over the years, and gives descriptions of what he does now, people he has "read", experiences that have occured to him during his time as a professional medium, and prior. More importantly this book leaves you with the feeling that people are important when they are here, and as John often says, you should communicate, validate and appreciate when they are here, so someone like him doesn't have to when they are gone. The book will astound you at his accuracy, leave you wondering if it is true, scare you at thoughts of the afterlife, question your beliefs and leave you feeling warm about loved ones who have crossed.

I found this book by chance in the library, and couldn't put it down until it was finished. I had never heard of John Edward before reading this, but now I am a regular viewer of his program on TV. I had always been a true skeptic as was my mum, but after reading this book I have had my eyes opened. I found this book a great comfort as did my mum (she has lost many loved ones in her family and this has given her a new lease of life). It is the most inspiring book I have ever read, it is refreshing, comforting and very moving and I would urge everyone to read it and pass it on to family and friends. This book will change your life forever.
