Spain released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), English ( Subtitles ), Spanish ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.85:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Booklet, Cast/Crew Interview(s), Interactive Menu, Scene Access, Short Film, Trailer(s), SYNOPSIS: Two couples struggling under desperate circumstances are faced with a devastating betrayal in this low-key independent drama from writer and director Conor Horgan. An unnamed apocalyptic event has left a handful of survivors struggling to get by in a village in rural Ireland. Mark (Rory Keenan) and his wife Katie (Kelly Campbell) are sharing a cottage with another couple, Jonathan (Ciaran McMenamin) and Hannah (Alex Reid) as they wait to see what will happen next; they have a stock of provisions and their neighbor Tim (Robert O'Mahoney), while even tempered, is willing to defend their territory if need be. But matters take a turn for the worse when Sgt. Lavelle (Paul Ronan), a local police officer, helps himself to a large supply of their food, and a handful of armed thugs take much of the rest. Tim is not willing to help his friends who were unprepared to protect their supplies, and tension mounts as the couples realize that they'll soon have to find a way to sustain themselves in a world without power, electronic communication or markets. But even the basics of survival seem insignificant to Mark when he learns that Katie has been having an affair with Jonathan. ...One Hundred Mornings ( Ekato proina ) ( 100 Mornings )

4.0 out of 5 stars Irish End of Civilisation Tale that oozes tension. 9 Aug 2012
By Tommy D - Published on Amazon.com
This is a sort of post catastrophe film but we are not told what the catastrophe actually was. It is set in some part of rural Ireland and a group of four friends have holed up in some holiday log cabins near a small village. They have been able to stock up on supplies but after two months are becoming enforced vegetarians. There is game in the fields and woods but they have no guns and like most of us would not have a clue how to make a bow and arrow. Jonathan (Kieran McMeniman - `To End All Wars') keeps checking the radio for signs of the outside world, but all he is getting is static.

They have a self sufficient hippy neighbour who they are kind of friends with and the local Garda (police) seem to be trying to hold a semblance of order about the place. But as time passes and no help comes, things start to unravel very quickly. Add to the mix a bit of extra marital rumpy pumpy and the claustrophobic, powder keg that is building up in the log cabin is all set to blow up. As supplies dwindle so do the options and the question of how to survive is placed at the fore of events.

This is a seriously tense film, where the on screen animosity is visceral; you normally think of chemistry, well this is the opposite. Director Conor Hogan has taken his story and told it exactly how he wanted it to play out. It is not an actioner but there is some action, it ain't a love story either but it is a tale of emotional stress and how to cope in such extreme circumstances.

This version is a spanish import and on region 2 so be warned and you can turn the subs off so it is still worth going for.

It lasts around an hour and a half and has one of those endings that some will take issue with and it does not rain all the time so I thought was not filmed in Ireland where it precipitates on average 400 days a year. But seriously this shows what a good story, solid acting and some financial backing can do; this is a really good independent film and I hope they get round to making some more.
