Traded up to a HD/Freeview TV this week having lived with portables for an embarrassingly long time. Not having a roof aerial I spent some time researching indoor aerials for Freeview and the OneforAll SV9215 appeared to get a good press most of the time. Living in an old stone house with 18" walls I had my doubts that it would work but I am in an area of good signal strength and thought it worth a try.
The aerial comprises a PVC covered panel (folded in two for packaging), the circular base into which it fits, a co-axial cable, amplifier and power supply. From the images, I expected the aerial to be a rigid plastic but it was easy to assemble. A hook and alternative sticky pad are included for fixing the aerial in position.
Testing out different locations in the room I found that positioning is critical to get the best performance and maximum number of channels. High and close to a window worked best and I now have a excellent picture on both digital and analogue and am picking up 89 channels. Hidden behind the curtain it is unobtrusive and exactly what I was looking for. This is an impressive little aerial and an inexpensive solution for digital tv.
The manufacturer's website provides a useful guide to likely reception strength according to where you live which was particularly helpful in choosing an appropriate aerial.
