Equipping the Church and Individual for Life!,

This review is from: One to One: A Discipleship Handbook (Paperback)
For any who've wondered how they can contribute to the building up of the body of Christ, this book is a fantastic guide. It deals with the subject of meeting up one-to-one with another Christian (or indeed non-Christian). Questions such as 'Why meet one-to-one?' 'What should we do?' 'HOw can I lead a one-to-one Bible study' and indeed 'what is a 'one-to-one'?' are all answered simply yet biblically. There is also a great section at the back with suggestions for further reading and useful resources. As different topics are covered biblical teaching is mixed with boxes containing people's real life experiences, from anonymous students, to experienced ministers such as Rico Tice and Vaughan Roberts. One of the great benefits of this book is that it is immensely practical and deals with all the sorts of issues, worries and questions that most of us thin up when wondering about meeting up with someone one-to-one. All the teaching is also clearly set in the context of grace, a refreshing break from purely legalistic "do's" and "don'ts". Of particluar help for many will be the chapter on how to prepare a Bible study, where simple yet useful guidance is given on how to deal with various books and passages. REading this book has certinly excited me with th thought of meeting up with a younger Christian, and hopfully equipped me too. Thoroughly recommended!
