Innovative,
This review is from: One For The Crow (Audio CD)
I had heard of Flamborough Head and genuinely thought they were an East Yorkshire Prog Rock outfit but it appears that they originate from Holland and wanted a double name similar to 'Jethro Tull'. This music is so fresh and revitalising and yes you can hear the comparatives to the likes of Genesis,Pink Floyd and Camel as described by those wanting to sell the product but every band has influences otherwise it would never 'progress' and take on the term progressive.Magriet Boomsma's lead vocals and woodwind instruments blending with Eddie Mulder's stylish guitar playing mixed with the fantastic back up of stunning bass perfomances from Marcel derix,Edo Spaninninga's Keyboards and fine percussion back up lifts this band into a place of their own. This is an album that grows too with each listen and if you love good Progressive rock complimented by fabulous flute playing and female vocals this is a must.
