1.0 out of 5 stars SKIP HARLEQUIN PRESENTS FOR THIS MONTH!!!! AWFUL 9 Aug 2009
By penguin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Whatever you do, DO NOT buy Harlequin presents this month! After a 10yr hiatus, I got back on the harlequin wagon 2yrs ago and have bought all 12 books every month, that is, after buying back issues of the 10yrs I missed. I have favorite authors like Carol Marinelli, Helen Bianchin, Lyndsay Graham, Sharon Kendrick, Melanie Milburne. These women write pretty good books. Characters are always well fleshed out, strong, passionate and intelligent.
For a while now, I have noticed that sometimes, HP books bearing their names just don't read like how they normally write. Especially for this month, it was especially awful. I can swear that Sharon Kendrick could never have written something as cliched and nauseating as The Playboy Sheikh's Virgin Stable-Girl!! Even the title is beyond the pale for the spectacularly cliched HP books. The male character was like something from a badly written soap opera starring neanderthal man and jenny flinstone.
In fact, reading through the first 5 books (while gagging and trying to get my money's worth), I was convinced the same person wrote everything. It became pretty clear that the writer had some kind of hang up on a 5yr gap. All the stories had something to do with a 5yr gap. The script and story flow was like something written by a pre-schooler pretending to be a university essay writer. In short, the writing STUNK!!!
I am thinking ghost writer AND A VERY BAD ONE AT THAT. Otherwise, these great ladies are loosing their touch. AGAIN I ASK, WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ROMANCE WRITERS THESE DAYS!

In each story the couples had to overcome different road blocks like most couples do. They show that loving someone is not always easy.
5.0 out of 5 stars a great way to spend a day 11 Dec 2011

I enjoyed this bundle quite a bit. I had previously read one or two of these but i didnt mind rereading them since its been a few years. I just wish i could have read more about the included books so i wouldnt have bought the same ones i had already read. But definetly a nice way to spend a sunday is reading this bundle.
