Product Description

From the editors of One Buck Horror Volume One comes the next installment in this acclaimed horror anthology series. This new volume features five pulse-pounding tales, sure to please hardcore and casual horror fans alike.

In "What Swims These Waters" by Daniel Ausema, two people are adrift in a small boat in a storm, and something in the water is biting.

A new way to get high sparks a search for a missing sister, and leads to terrors hidden in the heart of the inner city, in "Holes" by Sean Logan.

In "Beastie" by David Bischoff, a black cat drags home a town's buried secrets, one wriggling, misshapen piece at a time.

Adam Howe takes us to an asylum in England where the patients live in fear, and secrets are kept, no matter what the cost, in "3 Monkeys".

Michael Penkas shows us that the home of a killer might just be the best place for the ghost of a murdered woman to haunt, in "The Afterlife of Ellen Easterling".

Each Volume of One Buck Horror offers brand-new, terrifying tales from some of the most exciting authors working in the genre today. Don't miss out on this collection of soon-to-be classics!

Second helpings! 27 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
After reading and thoroughly enjoying the first volume of this new anthology I was eagerly anticipating the second instalment and it didn't let me down at all! Every one of the stories touched a chord with me in some way and the writing is excellent throughout.

The series is rapidly becoming one of my favourites and is guaranteed to be a hit with fans of the horror genre for many volumes to come.

Five excellent creepy monster stories! 27 July 2011
By Julie - Published on Amazon.com

I enjoyed One Buck Horror: Volume Two just as much as Volume One. Where Volume One seemed to have a children's theme running through the stories, Volume Two is all about monsters. There are slithery, squirmy masses of creatures yet unknown, as well as a couple of the human monster variety. All stories are well-written, quick reads great for break time at work or if you have several minutes to wait. I like that about One Buck Horror. The stories are short enough that I don't feel overwhelmed reading them on my Droid. And these are satisfying creepy tales! A couple of the stories hint at more adult themes, but these are handled well and never go overboard into modern gore and violence just to gross readers out. And I like how there are some modern situations spun into the style of good, old-fashioned horror stories. In fact, one of the stories that holds more of an adult theme is "Holes" by Sean Logan. I think "Holes" is my favorite of the 5 stories, where a brother goes on a search to save his sister from a drug dealer who is unlike any other drug dealer I've read about (unlike any other drug I should add). "Beastie" is my second favorite by David Bischoff. Beastie's a cat and while the cat does drag a present home for his owner, the owner gets dragged into a very creepy, unique freaky world. "What Swims These Waters" by Daniel Ausema reminded me of the squirmy things that live at the bottom of the sea and perhaps what some of the tinier varieties could potentially become with a few hefty mutations. I liked that the reader is left to wonder what the heck the creatures in this story are. "3 Monkeys" and "The Afterlife of Ellen Easterling" both deal with human killers, but with an interesting unique spin on those types of tales. This collection of five stories is worth much more than a dollar. You can't go wrong with it! Great job to all the authors of One Buck Horror!

Two for two. 27 July 2011
By hapagojira - Published on Amazon.com

One Buck Horror Volume Two has exceeded my expectations. I came in looking forward to five more stories giving off the same vibe of creepiness as volume one. However, these stories were superbly done and did not allow me to feel at ease after reading for a considerable time longer than the first volume's stories. This is not to dismiss the first edition, both are great but I simply enjoyed the second one more.

The horror had more fantastical aspects throughout. Monsters, in every sense of the word, are found within each of these stories. My favorite short story was the one that surprised me the most, "The Afterlife of Ellen Easterling." It starts out as a very interesting and beautiful perception of ghosts. I almost forgot I was reading a collection of horror stories when the words took a turn and began to provide a feeling of utter disgust that persists through the end of the tale. The ghost story left me tense and full of distressing thoughts, as did the other four, and this is a great way to gauge horror stories in my opinion.

I can now say with the utmost confidence that I recommend this series; although it is only just beginning I am hoping that every month I will get my fix of horror through these volumes. The books are only $0.99 now too! These imaginative authors are providing us with tales worth well above that price.
