Product Description

Acclaimed author Jennifer Blackstream continues her sensual Blood Prince series with book two, a Snow White tale like never before. A sizzling tale of a power-hungry vampire and a fierce rusalka maiden -- unlikely soul mates whose passionate tempers and fierce determination will put their tentative alliance to the test.

A power-hungry vampire in search of a fruitful alliance . . .

Kirill is a vampire prince plotting to be a vampire king. His immortal father has no intentions of vacating the throne anytime soon, but all good things come to those who wait…and plan. Bit by bit, Kirill is gathering political allies, forming alliances with goblins, trolls, and any other magical creatures who will speak with him. Unfortunately, his ruthless machinations can only get him so far. Some situations just require a woman’s touch. If only the fiery maiden with the power to help him didn’t strain his control over his lust for blood…and more.

A rebellious siren with a song to soothe the savage heart . . .

Irina will not cower. Not from her evil sorceress stepmother, and not from the vampire prince whose fangs threaten her with death even as his lips raise the heated desire of her bloodline. With a dagger at the ready, she agrees to a bargain -- her aid in his pursuit of political alliances with creatures beyond the veil in return for a reduction in the royal tithe her people are forced to pay the crown. If only sharp fangs and a sharp tongue weren’t such an incendiary combination…

Even an undead mastermind can’t foresee everything . . .

Seven dwarves. A poison apple. A glass coffin. It’s a strange and terrifying world when events can take a turn for the better or worse with just…One Bite.

Jennifer Blackstream is a psychology enthusiast with both a B.A. and M.A. in Psychology. Her fascination with the human mind is most appeased through the study of mythology and folklore as well as all of Terry Pratchett's novels.

Jennifer enjoys listening to Alice Cooper, trying new recipes (to which she will add garlic whether it calls for it or not), watching television with her family, and playing with her woefully intelligent three year old son.

Jennifer spends most of her time drinking coffee from her X-Men mug and desperately trying to get all her ideas written down before her toddler can find that all magical button on her laptop to make all her work vanish.

5.0 out of 5 stars a trips down imagination road review 3 Nov 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of One Bite in exchange for my review.

Irina has lived in her stepmother's castle and has watched the sorceress come to hate her more and more, though she has very little idea why. When the Huntsman takes her out of the castle and tells her that he was ordered to kill her, Irina's life turns upside down. Prince Kirill finds Irina in the woods, and instead of risking her life by drinking her blood, he takes her to the home of 7 dwarves who work in his family's diamond mine. Always trying to think one step ahead in order to defeat his father and become King, Kirill sees the advantage to having the well liked Irina on his side. But what he doesn't bargain on is the feelings that occur when she is injured. And when a corset, a comb and an apple become involved, Kirill has to go to great lengths to save the woman.

Well I loved Before Midnight and so had high hopes for One Bite, and I was not disappointed! One Bite was just as good as the first book and worked in the overall story arc well, making it feel like its own story as well as part of the whole. Just in case the hints in the synopsis didn't give it away (or the cover for that matter) One Bite is a retelling of Snow White, again not one of my favourite fairy tales (and actually one that I think is a tad over done) and yet One Bite had me turning pages and definitely not wanting to put the book down.

I loved the fact that One Bite went back to some of the more traditional parts of the Snow White story. In a lot of retellings, and even in a lot of representations (looking at Disney here) the corset and the comb are completely left out of the story. The fact that One Bite left them in was definitely a bonus to a great story!

The other thing I really liked was how independent Irina was.

4.0 out of 5 stars snow white with vampires 3 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

I liked this second book more than I liked the first, and honestly I think it was because of Irina, she had a much more likeable character than ... in the first book.

So this book is an adaptation of snow white with a vampire, Irina being snow white and the vampire Prince Kirill being Prince charming. I loved loved loved Indiana who was not the Disney snow white but a gutsy rebellious and adventurous, more of a snow white and the huntsman snow white. Kirill was also quite a fun character however I am getting a bit annoyed with bad boys always doing the right thing, just be bad for me please.

The secondary characters were ok although instantly forgettable, I didn't mind however since I really did love the main characters.

The pacing was good and kept me reading until the early hours of the morning.

The storyline was good especially the little changes which set it apart from the original story.

Definitely deserves the 4 star rating really did enjoy reading this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Vampire prince! Better than a werwolf any day... 15 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was given to me for free in return for an honest review by Lovers of paranormal on goodreads.com

I'm happy that I stuck with this series I guess that I'm just not a werwolf fan, so this book has vampire prince (always a good thing).

This book flowed better than the last one it was a much more enjoyable read and I found my self not wanting to put it down which is a sign of a good book.

I don't want to give anything away so all I'm going to say is read the book it's worth it.

I am finding the buildup to that last book existing so hopefully I won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars One Bite Review 15 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
The second book in the Blood Prince series is a mesmerizing fairy tale romance that puts the reader under its spell. First, let me say, while it can stand on its own, to get the full impact of the prophecy as it unfolds, I would recommend that the books be read in order. The author has taken the fairy tales and mixed it with myths and legends and created her own fascinating tale that entertains and enchants the reader. I believe the next book is the demons story and I can’t wait to find out how his part of the prophecy plays out.
