The program was originally produced in France in 1987 by Procidis and directed by Albert Barillé. The series consists of 26 episodes. The series combined entertaining story lines with an enormous amount of factual information, presented metaphorically. The series "Once Upon a Time... Life" is the third season within six seasons that were produced to the "Once Upon a Time" animation series. The series "Once Upon a Time... Life" taught about the human body and about the different systems in it with the same characters from the other Once Upon a Time seasons. "The good Characters" represent the body's defense mechanisms, whereas "the bad Characters" represent the viruses and bacteria that threaten to attack the human body. The depiction of human body is made with the help of animation of the different agents in it such as the Red blood cell, Bacteria, Viruses, the Nervous system etc. Every episode of the series featured a different organ or system within the human body (like the Brain, the Heart, the Circulatory system, Childbirth, etc). ...Once Upon a Time... Children animation classic,

In Spain, this is a classic animation cartoon and all we that had grown with it have a very nice memory of it. I think it's perfect for the children education on how the body works, the different parts, the reactions and the different illness that we can have. Through very simplistic drawings, we immerse ourselves into the microscopic world of our body, engaging with the good guys to fight against the bad guys (as always). Highly recommended.As for this particular version, I miss more languages supported and I would like to find a single European version with all the main languages included, instead of looking for the right version.

Best you could get for your kids,

I never saw english version but wached this series when I was a child back in my country on TV.It was something that we had to wait all week to see the next episodes.I think this series is very little know in England and it is a shame as is very educational.and you learn lots of stuff thru just waching.The way its show everything is so easy to understand.I have bought this in my native language and showed to my 6 year old and he absolutly love it.The picture is worth a thousand words there are good people taking care of the body from inside and baddies whom attack from outside-germs etc.You have to see it to understand how magical it is.I had payed fair amount of money for it but think is worth it.This series is all about human body how its work,how protects it self against invasion of bacterias and viruses,there are separate chapters for each organ,and lots of other stuff.You got redy answer for you child when really starting asking questions .English is not my first language so my appologies for any mistakes.

Very educational series. I watch it with my daughter and she learns a lot from it! Its a bit expensive but Im happy with my purchase.
