Wonderful book for involving children in storytelling.,

I've just read this book to two Year 1 classes of children of different abilities and nationalities and never have I seen the children become so involved with the pictures. They spotted the giant, they speculated about the witch and they commiserated with Baby Bear. A great book for generating audience participation. This is sure to become a firm favourite in my library.

This book has lovely illustrations which enhances and enriches the text in the book and bring the story to life. The characters in the illustrations are well known children's characters and their stories are told pictorially as the pages are turned which can make for great involvement by the listner. It gives children a great sense of what reading is all about and enables them to tell the story by 'reading' the pictures which of course gives them more confidence in books from a young age.

My son received this book when he was 3months old, and now he is almost 5yrs it is still a firm favourite with him and his 1yr old sisters. Have also bought it several times as a present for friends children as there is so much to see in the pictures to talk about, even though there are only a few poem lines per page.
