I had this album on a pre-recorded cassette back in 1975 when it was first released. The Rollers were at their peak back then and the tracks on this album captured their raw energy and captivated their fans. Stand-out tracks on this album include "Bye Bye Baby" (a #1 smash single), "Let's Go", "Keep On Dancing", "My Teenage Heart" and "Rock And Roll Honeymoon". These songs in particular present what the Rollers were all about at this point in their career - good time, let's have fun, boppy pop. At the same time, the recording demonstrates that the guys were seriously good musicians and could write credible music.
The bonus tracks also make this collection worthwhile. "All Of Me Loves All Of You" was a huge hit for the Rollers in '74 that never appeared on an album. It's also extremely interesting to hear their rendition of "The Bump" which was later a huge hit for the band Kenny; and the earlier "hit" 1971 version of "Keep On Dancing" with the Roller's original lead singer.
I'm sure die-hard Roller fans will have already purchased this CD. For anyone else curious enough to know what the fuss about the Rollers was (is?) all about, "Once Upon A Star" with these bonus tracks is an excellent starting point. Buy it!!
