The Baton Rouge Blues-man pays his dues,
By A Customer
This review is from: Once Upon the Blues (Audio CD)
For anybody who has not heard the distintive sound of Larry Garner playing the blues this album is a good place to start, Larry takes the lisener on a journey through his life telling his story as only he can from his obsevations on driving standards in "slower traffic keep right" to his experiance with computers in "virus blues".With Larry you not only get well writen and often amusing songs like "i ain't the one" and "klepto" but also thought proving classics in the making like "where the blues turn black" in short everybody will find something to relate to in Larrys music and as the man says the blues ain't "nothing but life"

Larry Garner.....kick back blues....that you will enjoy,
By McKinley - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Once Upon the Blues (Audio CD)
I saw Larry Garner for the first time 22 Feb 01, at the Music Box in Omaha, Ne. After each song, I just kept saying to myself, I don't believe how good this man is. Every song I heard, the more I enjoyed the band. His keyboard player is one of the best I've heard and can play a mean harmonica. And his base guitar player can play is 6 string base like a lead guitar. They were out of "Once Upon the Blues" CD at the show so I went and got it the next day. A great CD and if you like West Coast Swing Dancing, a great CD to get down on some great slow swing dance moves. A wonderful CD and a great act to see live.

Saw Larry Garner in Tyler Texas about six months ago at a place called Rick's. Great blues guitar playing and his rhythum section was excellant. This and other CD's by Garner should be everyone's collection.
