Laurel Ferrara was on a plane on her way to Sicily she was going to be maid of honour for her best friend Dani. It was through Dani that Laurel had met Cristinao Ferrera Dani's brother, and Laurel's husband , it was two years since she had left Cristiano, yet here she was returning to where she knew she would see him again, but she couldn't deny Dani's request to be part of her wedding party, they had remained friends even after Laurel had left Cristiano. As soon as the plane landed she realised that her estranged husband was there to meet her, looking just as gorgeous as the last time she saw him.
Once again Sarah Morgan has written a winner, this story is emotional romantic and passionate, the characters are well developed and realistic, Laurel had a bad experience just before she left Cristiano, and felt that he had let her down very badly, whereas he thought that she was a coward running away. Now together again after two years can they deal with the past and move forward? I just adored Cristiano he was a wonderful hero he was very convincing in his feelings for Laurel. When he learned the full truth of what had happened it brought him to his knees he had not had any idea of the full truth, and once he does he goes all out to put things right, he was brilliantly written. I just loved the way this author manages to convey the emotions in the story to the reader, I was totally engrossed and could not put this down. Plus a great epilogue that rounded everything off, I really like it when that happens.

It's been a while since I read any Mills & Boon but this one has made me remember how much I used to enjoy them. This isn't the first book I've read by Sarah Morgan but I didn't realise she was a M&B author too so I'll have to see if there are any I've missed. I hope there are lots more as she writes such great stories and I'm always charmed by her characters.

The chemistry between Cristiano and Laurel was electric and I was rooting for them the whole way through. I don't always enjoy romances to have friction and misunderstandings that need to be worked through but here I just lapped it up. For anyone who is familiar with M&B type romances it's quite predictable- separated couple who are thrown back together during a family member's wedding have to work through their differences while trying to convince themselves and each other that they've moved on. I just love stories about reunions with ex's. They sometimes frustrate me because a lot of the misunderstandings could be avoided if they would just sit down and talk to each other but they spend all of their energy trying to hide their true feelings and thinking the worst of each other. They do say that the path to true love never runs smooth, I suppose and it wouldn't be much of a story if they sorted it all out in the first chapter after a quick chat.

Wonderful setting of Sicily and Cristiano was a great Italian hero. Laurel was just the right mix of strong yet vulnerable and I actually shed a tear or two as they worked out their differences.

Lovely story and one I'd go back to.

If you're looking for another great Sarah Morgan story, try The Tortured Rake (Mills & Boon M&B) (Bad Blood - Book 1) it's every bit as wonderful as this one.

Unlike one of the other reviewers I didn't think that Laurel (the female lead) was at all whiny or annoying, infact I think the author was far far too easy going on the male. I think he completely deserved to lose Laurel - not responding to a phone call and ignoring her to carry on with a business deal when she was having a miscarriage was unforgiveable in my book. I suppose it wouldn't have made a good romance but I would have had her leaving him for ever and him suffering for ever for what he did! I think she was very forgiving to take him back in the end and he didn't deserve her. I've given it a 4 because even though I did find him totally insensitive and a total b*****d it obviously made me feel emotionally enough about it to write the review! It was a shame about the end though - I always feel for women who take the normal amount of time to get pregnant (2 years) as these books always make it seem as though you can get pregnant at the drop of a hat!

The story started off well then deteriorated into a "will they, wont they" get together situation - you knew what the outcome would be and I found it frustrating and drawn out in reaching the obvious conclusion. Typical Mills and Boon (which had I realised, I would not have purchased)! I suppose for those who like Mills and Boon then it could be an easy read, personally I prefer a bit more substance to a story.

I had to say I read this book and could not put it down. I have not read a feel god book in such a long time. This books evoked emotions, oh boy passion and denial of the truth of their love. I felt so engrossed in the characters issues and this indicates to me its a good read. If you are a romantic you always look for a happy ending. SM had youi right up to the end - but this time the he got it right. Well done..... SM
