More About the Author

Antonella Gambotto-Burke is the author of six books - Lunch of Blood, An Instinct for the Kill, The Pure Weight of the Heart, The Eclipse: A Memoir of Suicide, MOUTH, and Mama: Love, Motherhood & Revolution (2015).

Gambotto-Burke was described by Tatler magazine as a novelist of "great sensitivity" and as having "a keen eye for satire, which she uses to great effect." In The Sunday Age, Matthew Condon wrote that reading her fiction is "like being unable to stop staring into the sun when you've been told that it damages your eyes," and Who magazine described her as possessing "a major literary talent."

Her literary nonfiction has also been widely praised. Professor Nicholas Humphrey, author of A History of the Mind, wrote that The Eclipse: A Memoir of Suicide is "an astonishing, deep and beautiful book," Crisis: The Journal of Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention called it "a brilliant, moving book", and Michael Rakusin of Tower Books described it a "masterpiece". KJS Anand, winner of the 2009 Nils Rosen von Rosenstein Award and Professor of Paediatrics, Neurobiology and Anaesthesiology, described Gambotto-Burke's new book, Mama: Love, Motherhood & Revolution, as "undeniably the most important book of the 21st century."

Gambotto-Burke is working on a new novel.

I made it through about 3 pages before I realized this was a hit piece on Sasha Grey, and not actually something worth reading unless you happen to be a preachy judgmental self righteous douche like the author

Antonella Gambotto-Burke ,,, you see the hyphenated name should have clued me in to the feminist dumbfuckery . but sadly I missed that part

The smarminess of the author is sickening, and while clearly despising Sasha Grey she isn't afraid to use her name to make a few bucks. I am also guessing the author couldn't get laid on a troop ship with a jug of whiskey under each arm. That has to be the reason for so much bile to come out of one idiots mouth for someone that has never harmed them or theirs.

Look if you are a sanctimonious dirt bag that can only derive their self esteem from picking on people, and judging them based on your own warped world view and who refuses my advice to have a bleach and ground glass martini then this might be a book for you.

This is my first negative review of anything. Normally I believe if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all but this reprobate had it coming

oh and author ..I..
