I read many Lent books, not because I feel that I need them but in order to recommend them to people in my congregation. Many of them have too much material from the author and don't demand too much work from the reader. Baring in mind that these books are the only Christian book some may ever read in the course of the year, they are important.
What distinguishes this book is the minimal text and the maximum of exercises. They are varied, to suit different spirituality styles and I gained a lot from it myself, for a change. It made my lent a `springtime for the soul,' which is what it is meant to be.
