?The author presents a new theory of the origin and treatment of homosexuality that differs from the model presently accepted by most psychotherapists. Van den Aardweg, a Dutch analyst, contends that homosexuality is a form of neurosis that can and should be treated--rather than, as many now feel, a normal alternative sexual orientation based on biological causes. The author interprets his evidence to show that adult homosexuals were self-pitying children who did not feel like other members of their sex; that is, they felt less masculine or less feminine. He further argues that a chronic pattern of inner complaining established in childhood works to repress the normal' sexual orientation of these clients.... Most comprehensive study of Homosexuality ever written 30 Jan 1997

Dr. van den Aardweg has dedicated much time and effort researching the background and possible treatments of homosexuality. If you are opened to being challenged in your current views on the subject, regardless of your perspective, this is the book to read. If you are homosexual, it will "get under your skin" like no other book. It has been reprinted three times in German, and needs to be reprinted in English, but perhaps a local library has a copy
