Product Description

#1 in Kindle/ Small Business & Entrepreneurship (November 2013)

This little book is all about curiosity. About applying curiosity to think - and do things - differently. Written by business storyteller, advisor and Financial Times writer Ian Sanders, ‘On Being Curious’ will show you how to inject curiosity into your business, working life and career; how by giving yourself a licence to be curious can unlock new ideas, grow your business and deliver a more fulfilling life.

This short book is your personal handbook to living a more curious life. Written in a punchy, highly readable style it will inspire you to put curiosity at the heart of your working life.

'On Being Curious' outlines seven principles to help you embrace curiosity:

1. Be fluid
2. Think like a kid
3. Embrace discovery and exploration
4. Be an idea collector
5. Travel without a map
6. Read, watch and listen wildly
7. Dabble

Who's it for? Anyone who wants to think differently about their job, their business or life in general. You may be a student or a startup CEO, a creative worker or a freelancer working at home. All are welcome - so long as you're curious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just an idea but a way of life. 20 May 2014
By C.Hardy
Format:Kindle Edition
If you can begin to habitually open yourself to the random possibilities that pass us everyday and where they may take you, you begin to grasp the concept of being curious. This great little ebook describes a mindset that we would all do well to adopt.
We are surrounded by opportunity everyday, and so much of it is within our grasp if only we were curious enough to think "what if" and simply go for it.
Ian describes a thought process that could yield wonderful things. I was particularly grateful that he kept things brief, succinct and didn't labour any points unnecessarily.
After finishing this, I started his book Mash-Up which I definitely recommend you try too.

4.0 out of 5 stars A short book from Ian...got me curious! 5 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a nice, simple, short read about a topic that Ian demonstrates in his work, blogs and other great books. The book a well written, and like all Ian's books it is a pleasure to relax with.

This book takes you through some simple steps to unleashing and doing something with your natural curiosity. I particularly liked the section on "Dabbling" - to take small, playful steps and try things out. As we get older we can become a little too linear and risk averse to try things. This short chapter hit home with me, as I've spent my working life dabbling in things that interest me.

If you enjoy this book, then as a next step I'd recommend his other masterpiece - Juggle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reminded me of Tipping Point 14 Jan 2014

The idea is very neat, but the way the book was written left much to be desired. To me, it gave examples of being curious but not really techniques or practices to actually make yourself wonder more.
5.0 out of 5 stars Curious Is a Hook 25 Nov 2013

On Being Curious is a hook. It makes you want more. So you have to be curious to find it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Short and inspiring read 21 Nov 2013
By Joshua Wold - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was a short and inspiring read. It doesn't have any fluff, because it's not needed. In a short period of time the author is able to get his point across, emphasize it in a few ways, and then leave the reader to think about how this applies to their own lives.

I found myself wanting to take action in a few areas for myself. It's reminded me why being curious, and being creative in many areas leads to a more rewarding experience.
