Colin Blunstone is Britains best male vocalist, for many people, and that list is ever growing. Here in this release which is comprised of many songs recorded live at the BBC (as the title suggests), there are also a few of the earlier original recorded classics included here. It is such a treat to hear Colin live, talking about the songs he is going to be singing and then delivering them as beautifuly as ever! One of the things that make this stand out for me is the two versions of Denny Laine penned hit for Colin: "Say You Don't Mind". I have heard the song with the string quintet, but not with a rock and roll band. The other songs include the classics, and very stylish re-do's of Zombies hits "Time of the Season" and "She's Not There". While always a pleasure to hear these timeless classics, for some reason, Colin's voice here seems really classy, some element that the studios captured, like a sound picture for all time.
Like many of Colins 'lost recordings' I hope this one make it to reissue, we can't seem to get enough...
Can't say anything bad about someone who has remained consistantly good, and true to his musical vision all these years. Way to go Colin!
