Unsure of the right position for a wrist monitor when taking your blood pressure? The Omron R7 features the APS (Advanced Position Sensor) to ensure that the monitor is in the correct position to take a reading. The R7 has an optional Bio Link application; a USB cable with software can be purchased separately to download readings onto a PC. An optional printer is also available so hard copies can be obtained.

My original Omron R1 had broken and I decided to replace it with the R7. I find it excellent value for money, easy to use, good memory features and the graph facility is helpful. I've checked it alongside a hospital arm monitor and it gave almost identical readings so I feel it can be trusted.
I would certainly recommend this for anyone not familiar with other units available on the market, definitely a good buy.

The R7 seems to work well and correlates with another BP monitor from another company. However, if you wish to make use of the built-in memory and the downloadable software you may be in for a shock.
Omron have been careful to use what seems to be a proprietary miniature "USB" connector. An internet search has failed to find an alternative to their own cable, which they sell for £20+. This compares with £2-3 for a standard quality USB cable and amounts to nearly half the cost of the complete R7.
If like me you wanted to be able to monitor your BP throughout the day and then download it for graphing, you would be better off buying a cheaper version and a notebook and pencil.

My doctors at the hospital suggested that I change my BP monitor because my previous monitor was way out in its readings. They suggested Omron as a reliable make. I found the R7 on Amazon at a superb price, so I ordered one. It has been ultra-reliable, which is what I wanted.
