I purchased these scales on the basis of the reviews at the time - all of which said these scales were one of the best sets to go for for accurate weight readings.
After using the original set of scales for a few weeks, I started to notice variations in my weight, after taking measurements one after the other, in different setup modes. In one instance, I switched the scale on and stood on for a quick measurement, andf it gave 203.8lbs, but, resetting and putting the scale into memory mode 30 seconds later, it would then register a weight of 205.4lbs or something. Then to add further confusion, we have an old set of mechanical scales which we were replacing - these gave a weight of 200.5lbs (this being 2 minutes after the first set of measurements)
After contacting Amazon, it was decided these scales were faulty and a second set were sent out to replace the faulty set, and the second set went the very same way. Amazon have now in the process of collecting this set and providing me with a refund.
The other measurements the scale provided, I felt were a little useless as they would fluctuate wildly in the space of a week - if the scales are to be believed, I have gained 6% body fat and lost 3% muscle mass in a week!
I don't feel able to recommend these scales due to the variations in the readouts using different setups - all the weight measurements should be exactly the same regardless of whihc setting you are in. In order to get a rough idea of weigh is to do it a number of times and then average the readouts out, which isn't very good in my estimation. My mechanical scales show the same readout whether I stand on them once or 20 times.
