5.0 out of 5 stars The Mighty Omnio 22 Mar 2002
Format:Audio CD
This is album is nothing short of a master piece. A sonic epic voyage that will take you to places you had never dreamed of before, music and lyrics are beautiful beyond words. From the first sounds of "299796km/s" you know you're in for an outstanding musical experience, and once the album is finished you emerge from it as if from a strange but comforting dream. I am not kidding, if you buy any album in your lifetime, make it this one!

If there's something wich words and adjectives aren't capable to make justice to it, it must be this album - omnio.
In the Woods were capable to create something extraordinaire, beyond words. You can't even classified what type of music is this. Omnio is from far the best music i've ever heard, so check for yourself.
Warning: This music is not easy to get into. It requires repeated listenings, due to is complexity.

3.0 out of 5 stars not my thing 2 Jan 2014
Format:Vinyl
Bought this album on the strength of a review in a magazine, it arrived promptly and in perfect condition. The presentation is excellent, beautifuly packaged and in clear yellow vinyl. Only one problem, I don't much like the music! If your already a fan then you should be happy with this product, if not then it's a risk.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true classic 3 Dec 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
The best album from the brilliant In The Woods, still containing some of the black metal elements of 'HEart of the ages' (though with sung vocals), but with more progressive elements.
The opening track (299796km/s) is typical of the album, and one of its best tracks, with a mix of string quartet, metal guitars, male and female vocals, and epic song structure (the song lasts about a quarter of an hour).
Highly recommended to anyone interested in 'prog metal'.

This album is where the band adopted their definitive style of operatic Gothic Metal with electronic ambient sounds.
The songs are incredibly long and complex, perhaps a little too long. Nevertheless, they make a far more interesting use of synthesisers than in their other albums.
Unfortunately, the production quality is not quite up to standard. Thus, the album is let down by the murky quality of the vocals.
