This was the book that really opened my eyes to the pleasure of reading as a child. Somewhere beyond Dick-King Smith, this is more than a typical animal story. Absolutely excellent-I can't fault it!

I remember this book as being my favourite when I was younger and have told many people about it. Although I havent read it in a few years I can remember alot of the plot and it is a book that has stuck in my memory since I first read the title. I really enjoyed the book as it follows a chicks life, but is written in a way that any child or adult can relate to the feelings and hard times that someone may go through as they grow through the hardest years of their lives. It is a definately good read and will keep kids amused throughout.
