I got this little recorder yesterday direct from Amazon, and it's not bad. I've never used a dictaphone before in my life, so I've got nothing to compare it to, but I've got no real complaints so far.

I bought it because I needed a dictaphone for less than £30 - and fast. This was the cheapest one I could guarantee would arrive within 2 days. And so... tada!

It's easy to use. Just turn it on and hit record, basically. Everything is done in an instant, too - there are no delays with recording or deletion, so it's great for whipping out of your pocket and making a quick note on.

This is really marketed at those who want a dictaphone without tapes, and to be honest it's worth the extra cost. It's absolutely impossible to overwrite your files by mistake, it's much easier to permanently delete files and much easier to find the note you're looking for. You can even organise your recordings into seperate folders if you really want.


Pros: It's lightweight, it's cheap and it's a decent brand. Plenty of little extra features such as record date, remaining memory, alarm clock and even a timer. It's not tape!

Cons: The internal speaker is dreadful. It's fine for making notes I guess, but it splutters every time you say a word with S in it. No PC connectivity.


To sum up, it's a budget digital dicatphone, and it does its job perfectly well. There's no PC connectivity, but for most users that'll be just fine. Buy it if you're after a low priced tape-less dictaphone that's easy to use and carry around. Don't buy it if you're looking for a high quality recorder. It's not badly made, but I certainly wouldn't price it above £40. It's a budget recorder. Don't expect super-high quality recordings.
