I bought this camera for my wife's birthday in September 2009. I have found the images consistently good. I took some photos on board HMS Warrior in Portsmouth's Rpyal Naval Dockyard in the boiler room by flash. The wide angle and flash took marvellous photos which you just cannot see with the naked eye. The balance was wonderful and I was genuinely surprised by its flexibility. Some photos of Tower Bridge in twilight showed the camera could cope with low background light by capturing some very subtle shades in the sky and the night lit bridge. My wife has been very happy with the camera's image quality. I have been impressed. I use a D70 Nikon DSLR for my underwater photography and can see now how digital cameras have advanced. I moved on from film cameras about four years ago. I am sorry that a previous reviewer had such a bad experience with their camera but it has not been ours at all. Plus the supermacro facility on this camera allows very close focusing on very small objects.
