The LS-20 Linear PCM digital recorder is the latest addition to Olympus’ music range. It builds on the current LS range to offer recording studio sound quality with HD movie capture.

Many cameras now offer HD movie recording but all too often the sound is not always the best; for a truly lifelike recording you need studio quality sound to go with the film.

The LS-20 records 24bit / 96kHz PCM - better than CD quality audio in a mobile recording studio. Combine this with full HD movie at 1920 x1080P (30 fps) and image stabilizer and you can live life on a film set ready for ‘action’.

Keep check on both your audio and visual recordings with dual LCD technology, dedicating individual screens for audio information and filming.
For ultimate creativity, play around with the movie effects which include rock, pop, sketch and pin hole for a unique professional feel recording.

Ideal for gigs, rehearsals, pod casts, interviews, home movies, nature and more - the LS-20 shoots in HD quality and offers new movie effects including rock, pop, sketch and pin hole for that artistic flare.

The in-camera Magic Art Filters enable users to enhance and customize videos as they’re being captured to have more fun and get more flexibility without expensive and time-consuming computer software.

Pop Art - enhance and saturate colours to create vivid, high-impact pictures that express the joyful, light-hearted feel of the Pop Art style of the 1960s;
Pin Hole - reduce the peripheral brightness of an image as though it were shot through a pin hole, connecting the viewer intimately with the subject at the centre;
Punk - create two-tone images full of rock-and-roll spirit with bright contrast with dark subjects for an overall punk tone.
Sketch - This filter gives the impression that subjects have been sketched on the fly by an artist just at the moment that inspiration struck. Images are transformed into line drawings for improvised, creative results.

To make maximum use of the space available, users can divide, partially erase and transfer audio files. They can also set practical index marks during recording and playback so they can access files in an instant for stereo playback or editing.

The LS-20 features uncompressed 24 bit/96kHz Linear PCM recording capability, to capture the rich, dynamic sound quality of music performances like a studio in your pocket. It has the versatility to record and play back in the WAV, MP3 and WMA formats and can record with its internal microphone or by plugging in an external microphone.

HD Movies

Full HD Video and HDMI® Control - delivers a broadcast-quality 1080p movie experience when played back on an HDTV; recorded in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format in full HD at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. 720p HD and 420p resolutions also available.

The LS-20 shoots 1080p HD video, so you’ll always capture the action. Playback on your HDTV is also a breeze, Simply connect the recorder to an HDTV with an HDMI™ cable, which can be purchased separately at any consumer electronics store. With HDMI Control, you can use your HDTV’s remote to control playback functions and navigate the camera’s menus from the comfort of your favorite couch.

Share your creation with the world through the internet by easily uploading your movie files; The LS-20 supports the 640x480 (30fps/ mp3) format suitable for uploading video. Alternatively connect the recorder to your PC to use it as a webcam and share live action.
The line in socket doubles as the microphone socket to also enable external equipment such as microphones or a mixing desk to be connected.

With adjustable microphone sensitivity, manual/auto recording level, noise cancellation and high sensitivity you can define audio that may be a distance away. With 4x digital zoom, reverse angle recording and image stabilization you can get closer and clearer visuals.

To shoot overhead or in crowded environments simply turn the recorder upside down and the left and right channel of the built-in stereo microphones are automatically reversed allowing you to easily view your recording on the LCD screen.

Built in spot/multi zone metering automatically sets the correct lighting for quality visuals while White Balance, Exposure Compensation and High ISO settings keep you in control of a perfect result.

For automatic audio set VCVA to switch on automatically when noise levels exceed a given threshold - and off again when the signal is weak, alternatively set the self timer to capture everyone in movie mode.

An ever-growing range of accessories allows users to further extend the boundaries of sound.
