The DM-450 is an excellent device: compact and versatile. The only feature I would have liked to see would have been the ability to use the internal memory as well as, rather than instead of, the external socket. But that's only a minor point. My major beef was with Amazon. All the Olympus literature shows the DM-450 as being supplied with a CS-126 case, which doubles as a stand and includes a tripod bush. My DM-450 came with a pathetic apology for a case which is only marginally better than useless. No doubt Amazon sourced the DM-450s it is selling from a different market. I complained. After three and a bit weeks the correct case arrived. Anyway, on to performance. I have found it excellent for recording meetings, though I am going to make a wind filter to protect the microphones which like every such device react adversely to being touched. The really amazing thing is its performance outdoors recording birdsong. I set up the Euphony microphone function to "zoom" and made some outstanding recordings. All who have heard them have been astonished at the detail and clarity. There is absolutely no comparison with pocket tape machines: the superiority of the DM-450 is truly amazing. Heartily recommended.

I was told by my friend that she has got one and it is really good. I have purchased this item, to record my toughts on food and ideas and so far so good. It is easy to use, no brain storming menu, just had to buy a memory card separately. I have put so much info, music and already did record one three days course. Great sound, obviously u can ajust all settings on your demand. Great purchase, for a great value. I recommend for those who is a begginer to recorders.!

I was looking for a voice recorder which can be use easily for a visually impair person. Also I wanted to transfer the reorded file to the computer via USB. This one was the best option also we could save almost £50 bu buying from CBM Store.
