On the other hand, you can open Guy Oliver's Almanack anywhere and find a comprehensive overview of a FIFA's member's recent international and domestic scene, supported by a concise narrative and digestible chunks of statistical data that stops well short of overkill. The ideal blend, in my view.
This book is a must for anyone whose horizons extend beyond the trivia and endless gossip of the Barclay's Premier League. As the book's title suggests, it is the perfect point of reference for the global game. Long may it flourish.
