We cover thousands of games played in 2010 on every continent and in every country of the world - there is no other book like it. Every match at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa is covered in minute detail. Along with details of every scorer, attendance, bookings and number of passes (even the temperature during the game). We also show the position of each player using our new graphic. Oliver's Almanack of World Football is the only publication in which you will find match details for all six continental club championships. Track all the stats as Internazionale won the UEFA Champions League and Internacional won the Copa Libertadores. Want to know the line-ups for every CAF Champions League match and where the TP Mazembe players lined up on the pitch in the final against Esperance? Or how many bookings Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma players received on the way to winning the AFC Champions League? Or the unlikely story behind Papua New Guinea's Hekari United wining the OFC Champions League? It's all in Oliver's Almanack of World Football 2011. Find out the major stories of the year in all 208 member countries of FIFA - who won the league, what was the result of the Cup Final, the results of the matches played by the national team. For over half of those countries our coverage includes the result of every single league and cup match played during the year, often including lower divisions. Our unique medals table also returns this year showing you just how successful clubs have been in the past. For the top dozen nations we have match by match analysis for each club in the top division including a list of appearances and goals for every player. Almanack of World Football 2011 - your ultimate reference to football wherever it was played in 2010

Good to see this excellent publication continuing to survive in the here-today-gone-tomorrow world of football reference book publishing.
I've bought several of the previous editions and I'm pleased that despite the book's bulk it still remains very easy to navigate.
Some sports yearbooks suffer from information overload or an excessively glitzy presentation - all of which leave the poor reader struggling to see the wood for the trees.
On the other hand, you can open Guy Oliver's Almanack anywhere and find a comprehensive overview of a FIFA's member's recent international and domestic scene, supported by a concise narrative and digestible chunks of statistical data that stops well short of overkill. The ideal blend, in my view.
This book is a must for anyone whose horizons extend beyond the trivia and endless gossip of the Barclay's Premier League. As the book's title suggests, it is the perfect point of reference for the global game. Long may it flourish.
