This is wonderful animated television, taking the viewer back to simpler times. There is no shouting, no "celebs" (vacuous nobodies), just clean fun. The animation is basic, but charming. Oliver Postgate had a lovely voice, warm and inviting.
The big gripe with this 3 dvd set, which looks great as a package, is that the claim to have all the Ivor the Engine's ever made in colour. The box lists 24 episodes, but only goes up to 17 on the actual dvd, missing out some lovely episodes, and only playing therefore for just over 2 hours, not over 3 hours as it should. Be warned!
