Product Description

Product Description

Grand Duchess Olga Nicolaeivna Romanov, intelligent and strong-willed, felt the mood of her country. Olga was deprived of the throne purely because she was a woman. She could see her country's doom approaching, but was powerless to prevent it. Other forces were at work - dark, mystical forces originating thousands of years ago that would eventually bring about the downfall of the Romanovs. The dramatic story of the final years of the last Tsar and his family has fascinated people the world over. But this is Olga's own extraordinary story - engrossing, yet heartbreaking, history brought vividly to life - is this what really happened? Elizabeth Mills presents a whole new interpretation of the family's last years before their catastrophic execution...at Ekaterinburg...or was it somewhere else? And did one or two of them get away to freedom?

1.0 out of 5 stars the worst book of the year, 24 Oct 2006

This review is from: Olga!: What Really Happened to the Last Tsar's Eldest Daughter (Paperback)

If you collect rubbish books here is a real gem. I share completely the previous reviewer's point of view. It is an utterly bizarre and on top most boring book. It is badly written and furthermore it is misleading. It was not at all clear that this just the outpouring of some deranged mind and had nothing whatsoever to do with the historical Grand Duchess Olga. Even tough I hate throwing books away this utter worth book is not going to take space in my library. This book is a waste of time and money. On even worth the paper it was printed on. JUST DO NOT BUY IT, unless you collect rubbish books. Then you might actually have found a gem. It is just utter rubbish!

Good that quite recently the last remains of the memebers seem to have been found. This should put an end to the endless "survival stories". At least the Anastatisa saga was done with style and imagination, but this book is a waste of paper. I am sorry for every tree which had to die for such rubbish.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for the Serious Student of the Romanovs, 6 Aug 2007
This review is from: Olga!: What Really Happened to the Last Tsar's Eldest Daughter (Paperback)
This book is a novel based very loosely on the fate of the Romanovs. It is definitely not worth reading if you are looking for new research into the Imperial family. More of a fantasy with use of unnecessary modern slang in the imagined conversations between the Romanovs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where is the author coming from???????, 9 Oct 2006

I ordered this book for delivery to the States. It is bizarre at best. If someone is doing historical fiction, I have seen better historical science fiction. Why she choose to slur the name of the beautiful tragic young lady who's photo she choose for the cover is beyond me.

Authors need to make sure they are advertising their books as either fiction or fact.

The authors personal theological beliefs are somewhere hidden in this story, she should have given the reader an introduction to them in her bio because that is where she is coming from.

Atlantis indeed!!!
