5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely desserts and sweet treats 22 Nov 2005
A collection of really good desserts and sweet treats. Especially recommend the baked cheesecake. Making it is so very simple. Turns out excellent everytime. The ingredients too are so easily available. Highly Recommended

This is my very best baking book. Any time I want to bake this is where I look first. I have used this book so much that I wore it out and had to purchase a new copy.

The Armenian nutmeg cake is superb, and pecans work even better than walnuts, especially if you don't happen to like walnuts.

The lemon delicious is a family favourite.

Baked cheesecake easy and delicious

The Victoria sponge is the absolute BEST Victoria sponge recipe I have ever used. The cake is moist, and wonderfully eggy, whilst light and delicious. Works brilliantly with mascarpone and home-made strawberry jam. It's so good that in our family we decide how much we like someone based on whether or not we'd give them a piece of cake if they dropped in. So if you're ever round our house and get offered a piece of Victoria sponge you know you're IN!

4.0 out of 5 stars Delicious 25 Mar 2003
Well done, the people at the Australian Women's Weekly have done it again. Sweet old fashioned favourites is a collection of recipes that make your mouth water. Apart from instructions that are so easy to follow, there is an extra bonus with the history and origin of each recipe.
With the aid of these books, cooking has been made something that the whole family can help with and enjoy.
