My three year old son finds the expressions of despair on the faces of the suffering shop assistants hilarious!!

Instantly recognisable illustrations and the simple pattern of rythmic repetition so familiar to the Berenstain book makes this an invaluable aid to developing reading for the under 5's.

They are also great fun!!!

I had this book as a child and now my two children (3 & 5) love to read it too.

The picures are clear and very amusing. Children can easily work out what is going on from the colourful illustrations and the text is very simple, meaning that they can soon read it for themselves. We read it together a few times, and now they can do it themselves, with great excitement as the bear gets more and more frustrated in the shop, and we can all relate to that!
