Everybody loves the sunshine - Revisited, not once but twice. That track is a gem. It first appeared on the album of the same name. Back in 1974 I think it was. It was the standout track on a nice but not great album. He rerecorded it less than a year later with his group Ramp. Again the standout track alongside Daylight, on their only album. (Found that album on a car boot sale for next to nothing NM). And now it's time for round three. I didn't here when it first came out, but my guess is that I would have loved it. But now it sounds a bit dated. It has been nicely reworked but lacks the charm and simplicity of the two first.
The rest of the album is much the same. Big sound and the same feel throughout. Not bad, but not great. Not the place to start your journey into the world of Roy Ayers. 'Lots of love' or 'Stoned soul picnic' does it for me. Haven't heard all from him, it's a bit costly when you only buy vinyl! Oh and don't forget to check out 'Nuyorican Soul'. Enjoy

I just need to let people know how good this album is. In a word: very. I mean, just look at who's on it. My faves Jean Grae (fabulous) and The Roots (tremendous) to start with. I reckon if you've heard any of the people on this or stuff that comes out of okayplayer, then you already know. If you don't already and have arrived at this page somehow, don't sleep on this LP. Buy it, check "Pastor Skillz", [..]

On paper this should have been excellent but in reality it doesn't live up to the names that are attached to it. The beats and rhymes are lackadaisical and, even though it only came out in 2004, it sounds dated. There are better compilations out there.

GOOD VIBES! 10 Jun. 2010

This is a beautiful collection of tunes. It's soulful, hypnotic, warm flowing funk that's become one of my favorite CDs. Roy Ayers has created an intricate blend of smooth and sexy sounds that lead the listener through a journey of rhythm and grooves that is very catching and addictive. While holding fast to old school Rhythm & Blues, he adds contemporary sounds and vocals to create a fresh breath of soul music. Unlike most music, the more I listen to this one, the more I like it. I urge everyone to add this to your collection!

Roy Ayers has put out a nice and mellow cd.Ms Badu adds just enough flavor that it is very nice. liz Wright is smooth as ever on the tunes she sings. If you are a Roy Ayers fan you will like this cd.
