As one whose wallet bulges with money-off coupons, however small, and credit notes galore, I was daunted at handing over £5.99 for a book. I mean, that's almost the price of a meal out for two (if you don't mind sharing a starter). Anyway, I'm pleased to say that the wondrous 'Oi, Pikey!' is worth every penny. It's hilarious. I always thought Lovejoy was tight, searching all over the place for bargain antiques. And what about skinflint Jesus "magicking" water into wine? But tight is right, as Bushell & Brackstone prove. And thanks to the book's robust hard cover, now that I've read it (and picked up some tips) I can dust it down and sell it as new to a friend. Perfect for Christmas!
